This book continues the saga of Elaine, Nick, Luna, Tony, Dmitry and Giorgio. Elaine and her family were home when she hears a beep at the gate. She is suspicious and after she asks a number of questions - the passenger is her Aunt Sarah. Elaine isn't sure it's her aunt but once she removes her sunglasses - she realizes it's her mother, Kathy. Kathy is there to ask Elaine to arrest her husband, Spyro Leandro, the man who ordered the killing of Elaine's father, Patrick. Elaine was told that her dad committed suicide while he was in jail.After much discussion with Kathy and Nick, Elaine decides to look into Spyro's background and illegal businesses. To do that, she must see Giorgio Cattoretti in Croatia; he has a diamond cutting factory there. Elaine hopes that Giorgio has information on Spyro. All he knows is that Spyro is a very dangerous man.
Elaine, Kathy, Luna and Nick devise a plan for Elaine to become the governess to Spyro's son, Alex. After a few attempts of trying to get the current governess fired - Kathy finally succeeds! Elaine applies for the position and after a thorough background check - she gets the job! Spyro and Kathy live in Greece and soon Elaine is on her way.
Meanwhile, Luna flies to Pittsburgh, in search of information on the death of Patrick. She speaks with a man, Thomas Tutter - he was the guard on duty the night Patrick died. Luna thinks Tutter knows more than he's saying about that night. Supposedly, a man, Lonnie Hendrix, had access to Patrick's cell....
Mike Wells has created memorable characters you care about - throughout the series, the reader is reunited with Elaine, Nick, Luna, Tony - even Giorgio! I've read books 1-9 and reading this put me right back to where the story left off. His attention to detail is superb! The images he describes; especially in Santorini, puts the reader in the scene.
Mike has a way of making the characters real - for me, it's like getting together with old friends! On a personal note, after reading book 1, I was hooked! Book 1 was the first book I'd read in many years. Mike Wells opened the door to my love of reading!

Interesting story. Well written....fits with Mike's style. I find it interesting that the Cat had just a small part in this story. Branching out? It sure opens things up for 11.
How can you NOT give it a five star rating? Always leaves you clinging. If you are a fast reader, you could probably read this book in 3 days tops. I read it in a day and half. That is because it was a long weekend, and rainy outside, so I was engrossed in the book. Keep em' coming Mike Wells.
Mike Wells , books are very interesting , at first could not put the book down, now I am on book 10,Beginning to feel Iike do not really care
what happens.And when rally look at the people in this book, they are unbeliveable , not sure I will pay the price for book 11 & 12,never

This installment was a nice break from Africa that's for sure. I enjoyed the soap opera like drama with the unexpected guest in the beginning of the story (cute, very warm and clever). Nice plotting, all very unique and believable, like we love from Wells. Like I said the stories are impeccable, but it IS dragging on. I wish he'd wrap it up. And fabulously if I may add. I've never experienced anything like this series. Wells has a lot to brag about.
I usually finish a book first but this one is another in this series that is too compelling not to help a reader to decide to buy it. It has surprises and twist after twist and just forces you to continue to read and it always seems to have a logical resolution.
I will not say anything about the plot but the free sample will hook you in a microsecond. The only thing bad is that it is the first of another trilogy of this series and it will be so hard to wait for the next.
